Well Maybe.. it depends on the OS level and security settings. At 5.3 and early 5.4 you had to pre-define each additional console session device in DST. You could do this concurrently by setting the control panel to Manual and then using Function 21 from the existing console. This was a Security 'Feature' so not just anyone could be the console if they happen to know the passwords.

Some where along the way maybe a PTF or V5R4M5 they changed it so the system by default will create devices on the fly. Anyone know when this happened?
