Hi, Jack:

It has nothing to do with "unsupported compiler, no source, etc." -- it 
is because someone removed observability on a release prior to V5R1.

Without the creation template (observability), the system cannot 
re-translate those objects to create the required executable program 
needed for V6R1 and above.
