They are now generating tons of error messages like 'LANQMNTR:

this is continuous and I'm afraid it's going to fill up disk, as the
system
now appears 'busy' all the time.

AFAIK there is no system-supplied function that will generate this message
nor take this action (what is the message ID associated with this?). I
would look for a "never-ending" job that's taking these actions for you.

First step to identifying the true culprit: (Press HELP (or F1) on one of
the error messages; press F9. What is the "FROM JOB" ? If you work with
that job, what program is it running? What is the program that sent the
message? Can you manipulate that program and/or hold/end that job? (I'd be
careful of holding or ending that job, though, until I had a better idea of
what else it might be doing.)
