I know that the QABNORMSW system value cannot be reset manually; only the system itself can do this. This value is set to '1' on one of our System i servers. I re-IPLed on Friday using the PWRDWNSYS *IMMED command, but the system value is still '1'.
Frankly, I have no idea how the system value got set to '1'; to my knowledge no one has run an ENDJOBABN command, nor has the system died abnormally. We manually powered down both System i's early last week, but the other server's value is '0'; I even applied a cume to that server.
So, anyway, how and when is the QABNORMSW system value reset?
