Well - that certainly seemed uncalled for. I am talking about a
function
of the OS that is clearly documented (I certainly didn't pull this out

thin air); each person can then decide whether they think that is
something
they want to use.

(BTW: DLTPGM is clearly documented, as is CRTPGM.)

It is all a matter of perspective, I realize. You are correct, though: one
shoots the operating system in the foot for sure. The other only has the
potential for shooting yourself in the foot. Not the same thing. My point
was that the fact that IBM doesn't tell you not to do something, doesn't
mean it's OK.

Of course you can do what you want. If I'm called in to fix it, I will use
a best practice.
