Joe, it worked perfectly after I put the comma back in after the first CTE.
I love CTEs. It turns SQL into a decent programming language. So do things like T-SQL, but they're vendor specific and so defeat the entire purpose. But ANSI standard functionality like CTEs makes SQL turn the corner for me.

My biggest gripe is that, at least on V5R4, I can't create a CTE and then turn around and use that in an UPDATE. That's a real limitation for me. I don't know about V6R1, haven't had the chance to try it.
