Exactly, why use your PC for mailto? There are numerous utilities for
emailing directly from your i. Thousands already do.
Some use SNDDST.
Some use this:

I use a wrapper for it called SNDEMAIL (modified). I downloaded that from
some magazine's website a decade or so ago. It was written in RPG. Dave
Leland wrote it.
Some use JAVAMAIL.
