Infosphere Data Architect(IDA) Messages

Morning.
 
I know this forum does not handle IDA questions, but I think the problem
i'm having is on the I-series side.
 
When my application programmer connects to the i-series using IDA the
request(Drop Schema) creates a waiting message(active journal open) but
does not pass it back to the IDA session for the programmer to see. Do i
need some special setting for the user profile to pass this message back
to IDA? The user can sign on to the 5250 session and reply to the
outstanding message as a work around.
