Apart from using OPNQRYF, when (or why) would I want to use
SHARE(*YES)?

I'm more curious why you wouldn't use the Midrange archives at
http://archive.midrange.com ... or Google. :)

Try it; you might like it.

Dennis, that's rather annoying. You're not OBLIGED to reply
to every
thread on midrange. If you haven't the answer just don't bother.

Also annoying is the practice of using a list like this as a
primary source of research. When I did a quick search of
archive.midrange.com (yes, I did) before writing my response,
I found several promising hits. I will admit that I did not
read every one, but I wasn't the one asking the question.

I looked too, but didn't find what I was looking for. I never get annoyed even by people posting even the simplest of questions and I enjoy it often when someone brings up a subject that has already been debated and needs revision.

I'd like to take advantage of this post to say that this thread has become fascinating and how much I appreciate everyone's input.
