No, it isn't, but using a desktop computer to do the job of a terminal (with the added "impedance bump" of interfacing two fundamentally different character sets) IS overhyped. Providing a rich client-server experience where it actually serves a purpose is one thing; replacing perfectly serviceable terminal-based development tools is entirely different.

And the terminal sessions on my 3489 and 3477 don't take up any real estate on the screen of my WinDoze box.
