Rob,
Your co-workers opinion unfortunately doesn't count. It's IBM's
software, and they determine which features are free and which aren't. I
have a few customers who have option 42, and they like it, but they had to
pay for that software. Most of my customers don't need it, and I would have
hated for IBM to increase the price of i5/OS by $2,000 so everyone got it
for free.

We threw tons of money at the wrong problem and purchased SSD's to speed
up our month end. Turns out the real enhancement is supposed to come with
journal caching. I have coworkers who believe that it should just be part
of the OS and you shouldn't have to pay extra for it.
