Rob,
I have rebooted HMCs and my schedule entries are still there. V6 &
V7 releases. Is this something from years ago, or have you seen this happen
recently?

Subject: Re: Move a tape drive resource between LPAR's ?
I don't do it on a nightly basis but I manually do it via the HMC. Some
lpar's are Mimix or Domino replicas and only get backed up every other
month. I can live with manual for that.
Never tried the HMC automated scheduler. I've heard that if you reboot
your HMC the scheduler goes away. Try that and see. Repeat I don't use
it and I'm going on hearsay.
Barsa Consulting had a product called APRM for Automated Partition
Resource Management. They open sourced it or something like that.
Apparently there are some api's you can execute from an lpar on the i to
go tell the hmc or something to move the resource to the other lpar.
We have drives that are shared between multiple lpars and physical boxes
nightly. No vary off/on. All connected at the same time via a fiber
switch. Each lpar has their own fiber card however.
