Just be aware that most cell phones and/or PDA aren't designed for heavy use...

Also they tend to be a bit fragile.

We went though so many Dell Axiom's that we rewrote many of our older
mobile apps to run on these:

Do your salesman already have smart phones? Example( iPhone, Blackberry,
Android, Palm Pre, etc).

If they do then I would standardize the device, then write the
application. ÂMost today are done with finger touch, not pen touch.
