I did a 'ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(JAVA_HOME) VALUE
('/QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/JavaVM/jdk60/32bit') LEVEL(*SYS)

Which is apparently the equivalent of setting a system value. This
variable wasn't defined before, so I'm still stumped as to how it chose
jdk50, but this does fix it.
