The general rule for all LTO tapes is that they can read backwards 2 levels
and write backwards one level. This allows for a more streamlined upgrade
path as you upgrade and replace your individual tape drives within the
libraries without doing an entire transfer to a different library. Thereby
avoiding a "rip and replace" type of upgrade.
