Actually, it would probably be an index, if you are on 6.1 and above.

From this tested statement on our machine

CREATE INDEX QTEMP/SALES05
on gdidivf/iim
(iprod asc)
where iid='A'
rcdfmt sales05r
ADD iprod, iclas

You might be able to come up with something. Put the year field on the
WHERE clause. Omit it from the ADD clause.
