RUNJVA will create a new job on each call and therefore a new instance  
of the JVM each time Brad. Using the JNI interface from RPG would  
avoid that overhead so that would probably be faster becuase the JVM  
startup is significant.

It occurs to me that there is possibly one other option - using  
Scott's UNIXCMD (http://www.scottklement.com/unixcmd/) would probably  
work too. It should be possible to keep the JVM alive that way - it  
certainly does keep the qshell or QP2Term session open until the  
"file" closes. Might work if you really want to avoid a NEP.
