Changing QWSERVICE to *ALLOBJ indeed gets rid of error, but in my case
either way the web services server worked.

Interestingly my web services server on V5R4 showed the same error in:
/www/WSERVICE/lwi/logs/trace-log-0.xml

Yet the server still started just fine.

Was the service set up to use the QWSERVICE user profile ?

Sounds like possibly an authority issue. Maybe give QWSERVICE *ALLOBJ
to see if the issue goes away and then backtrack.

Anyone got any clue as to what might cause the error:

FrameworkEvent.ERROR
java.io.IOException: Could not save file table.
I'm attempting to use the integrated web services server and it just
will not come up. The associated HTTP server is running, but
interestingly will not stop. The deployed applications (including the
default test one) will not start but no error message is issued - it
just takes a very long time and then the page refreshes with the same
status display as before - no error messages no nothing.
I can't see anything in the job logs and this is the only error I can
find. The balance of the error message is the usual Java stack trace and
I can't see anything useful there.
System is at V6R1 and supposedly up-to-date on PTFs. It certainly has
all of the PTFs that I can find that identify the Integrated Application
Server etc.
