Unfortunately, there seems to be something wrong with at least the
version of TNAPI that's on think400.dk (dated 7/12/2007); in my tests,
it seems to be extremely slow, and less than 50% reliable (besides
which, the way it's set up, you have to either play around with
sethostid/gethostid, or you have to do a TN session within a TN session).
Fortunately, as it turns out, our FTP ports are as well protected from
the outside world as our TN ports, and so there's no longer any reason
to keep the ones on the boxes I'm trying to reach shut down. And sending
the necessary commands through an FTP port is absurdly simple and
completely reliable.
