Subject: Re: Monitoring the QSYSOPR message queue
Path of least resistance:
Since the plan was to only have the monitor act on messages "after
hours," it was simplest to just have it shut itself down in the morning,
and start itself back up in the evening.
As to how it shuts itself down in the morning, well, every time it
launches, it schedules a job for 8:00 A.M., the next morning, to send a
"shut down after-hours monitor" message to the system operator message
queue, and when it processes that message, it also schedules itself to
start up at 5:30 P.M. that evening. (I may change that to 5:00, but
there's almost always somebody here as late as 1/2 hour after closing!)
