Jon,

The ports you need for NON-SSL:

23 - This is Telnet, you knew that.
446 - DRDA - Database Access
449 - This is the 'Port Mapper'. Note that you can escape without this one if you configure the connection to use the 'Standard Ports'
8471 - The as-database port.
8473 - The as-file port. Used constantly within Navigator.
8475 - The as-RmtCmd port. Often used within navigator.
8476 - The 'Signon Server.' Take a good guess what it's good for. :-)

That will get you 99% of Navigator.

Can anyone tell me what are the _minimum_ ports that must be open in order to
use Access for i. For now I can live with just the emulator - but longer term
need basic Ops Nav and Visual Explain etc.

On customer site we can connect with Mocha - but even just a plain emulator
session from Access won't work.

The Mordacs at this site take a while to open ports apparently so I just need
the details of a minimum set. IBM's site shows the numbers but doesn't
identify which are compulsory.
