I just ran into an issue with AJS on V5R4, and am wondering if the same
defect exists in the 6.1 or 7.1 versions.
In 5250: change the command list for a scheduled entry (or create a new one
for testing), and add a command whose length is greater than 512 bytes. The
Change Command List screen should respond with IJS1265 (Command length
exceeds limit.). Press Enter until the command is saved, and you return to
the Work with Jobs screen with the message "Comamnd list for job MYJOB
changed.". Go back into the command list for the job and try to prompt the
command. I got errors such as "A matching apostrophe not found." and "A
matching parenthesis not found.". I ended up editing the file
QUSRIJS/QAIJS1CM for the command, changing the CMCMD (Command) field. Then
went back into AJS command list, and made a change in order to update the
DBCS version (CMCMDG, Command-DBCS).
The Change Command List screen should not save any invalid commands,
especially when they are uneditable after the change.
I would have checked if this issue manifests in iNav, but I don't have the
plugin, even after checking for plugins. I tried the instructions at [
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/rzaks/rzaksajs2install.htm]
but they did not work for me. Other plugins, such as BRMS, did download and
install. This is with version 6.1 of iNav / System i Access, connecting to a
V5R4 system.
Thanks,
Loyd
