What if you don't know a domain name for the i? You can get that kind of thing, if you DO know the domain name, using ping - in Windows it gives you the numeric address in the responses. If you do ping www.google.com, you get Reply from 74.125.95.104: bytes=32 time=29ms TTL=51. Same thing on the i - you get PING reply 1 from 74.125.95.147 took 28 ms. 256 bytes. TTL 50.

But if you know the domain name, you don't need anything else for telnet of 5250 emulation - just use that name in the configuration.
