Hi everyone
do NOT bother with shading
I tried to use this without success, no matter what printer I used
I became so exasperated that I contacted IBM and was told that *SHADE had
NEVER worked
Their suggestion was to create and use a Page segment

Theoretically, I think you could do this using a box shaded black with
white
text on top. Maybe something like this:
R TESTRCD BOX(0.1 0.1 3.0 3.0 0.01 +
                            (*SHADE 100 (*COLOR *RGB 0 0 0)))
  TEXT 20A POSITION(1 1)
                            COLOR(*RGB 100 100 100)
But I confess this doesn't work on either of our two printers here, which
fail to produce the shading. The DDS manual indicates that there are
restrictions regarding printer models that support the shading of boxes.
But
you might be lucky and get this to work with your printers, especially if
they support color.

I have a need to recreate a pre-printed form so we can get rid of some line
printers. Boxes, lines, etc are not a problem but there are a number of
white-on-black constants (ex. Ship to: )that they would like to
retain. I haven't found a reference to it in the DDS for printer files"
manual. Can it be done? If not, my option is bold italics or some other
visual clue.
Thanks.
