I think the hardware list is roughly $16K for this using 140GB Drives and 32GB Memory. No tape drive included and no HMC included either.

I would get a 4 way 720 with an HMC, and then you can virtualize partitions
on top of IBM i, very easily. We are doing this at my office. Start with
just 1 processor, with 6 disks minimum with 32GB of memory, then you can
make about 5 to 6 partitions depending on what you need. Can make both 6.1
& 7.1 partitions.
