I looked at the hardware infocenter - the 720 described there has a max
of 6 drives - is that right? or are we talking some kind of expansion unit?
Also, are the 710 or 730 an option - they look like a pure rack-mount

Would the scenario You and Pete described use VIOS or just OS/400 (IBM i) as the host OS ?I think I can speak for Pete when I say we like IBM i hosting!!
VIOS has some capabilities IBM i doesn't but you wouldn't use any of
them and you would go nuts learning VIOS command line. :-)

I think the hardware list is roughly $16K for this using 140GB Drives and 32GB Memory. No tape drive included and no HMC included either.
