If anyone has ever had to migrate half of a system I would love you to contact me off list.

Let me explain. My client is starting the process of breaking off into 3 different companies, 2 will be new. We run a large Power i shop and one LPAR in particular needs it's workload/applications divided in half. The easiest approach is to migrate the full system to it new hardware (a full copy) and then strip off the half that should not go. But export laws may make this impossible. And with 3,000+ profiles and 2,400 Outq, etc. the cleanup would be a major effort. We have 8 LPARs to deal with and almost 90 3rd party packages running on them. Management wants this done yesterday. The new location is half way around the world with almost no iSeries staff or skills.
