Before the last company for which I worked closed its doors last December, I
had ordered (and received) 7.1 with plans to start implementation this year.
Instead, I'm working on a V5R1 machine running at around 80% disk used.
Alas, but it is a job. We may move to a newer system (Power5 or higher)
later, but nothing concrete yet. As all of the software is "internal,"
there are no vendor issues for us.

Can we get a show of hands? How many folks have at least 1 machine at
V7R1?

We (the people at corporate, not me personally, I'm just a peon at one
of the remote sites) are still working on getting the last of the
systems upgraded from V5R4 to V6R1. I don't know if it was vendor
issues or something else. I don't work on any of those systems. The
last of the systems that I do work on was upgraded last spring.

We're not a software company, so the "number of customers" question is
not applicable.
