You could try the installer I have here:
http://www.petesworkshop.com/downloads/tn5250j-install-0.6.2_beta-1.jar
(use save as...)
I think it was the one I used to install in Win 7.

Sourceforge has a completely new version which I have not had a chance to try yet but others have tried with good results.
