Jerry's response wondering if anybody was responding to an error message made me wonder if a reply list entry could be involved.

Chuck - the last one (voice on same line) is possibly part of the the issue.
As others have
mentioned, timing is very different in this kind of circuit. Voice will (by
the providers definition, often not under your control) will take priority.
Your provider should be able to give you a report as to whether packets are
being dropped due to overloaded/undersized pipe and the priorities for types
of traffic. I've had a customer switch to something similar and remote sites
was a big problem (and the salesman said "we can handle it"-just buy
more...).
Did they do any pre-testing of the orig circuit & how much flows in these
print jobs? Unbuffered (there really is some buffer, just not huge amounts
of memory) printing requires a fine tuning of pacing & timeouts, as well as
priority settings so that a phone call in the middle of printing, or an
upload of a sales presentation or the usual online music, stock feeds and
inappropriate material flowing on your network - all of these need to be
addressed.

Hi Jim,

We are on V6R1 and we were current as of a few weeks ago.

Depending on which model of 4230 they are either Type *IPDS or 3812

I'm not seeing printer emulation in this description(?)

Timeout value where?

And yes on voice.

Thanks!

Chuck

Chuck,
Before going to far in guessing the issue -
what OS release (& are you current with the "printing ptf group (SF99356
for
6.1)"
how are the 4230's defined on system
what emulation is the printer set for (ibm version or epson)
have you changed any parms in timeout values for moving to diff network?
and are you by any chance sharing this line with "voice"?
