Many products out there:

1)Icom/400 - Very basic but very reliable solution. No frills, but does the job easily with minimum of effort. Also very inexpensive. http://www.icom400.com/
2) Byteware's Messenger Plus - Excellent product with very good tech support. This product is now part of the Help Systems portfolio. More expensive than Icom, but very good software from a strong company. Also very easy to implement. Byteware also offers the only native anti-virus solution that I know of, which runs on the Mcafee engine.
3) Help Systems Robot Console and Robot Alert - 2 product needed to do the work of the other products, but this solution is much more robust. Also interacts seamlessly with other Robot modules. More expensive, but also probably the best tech support in the industry.

Some other products also now do basic monitoring such as the Bsafe Security Suite and others.

I've used all of the above solutions and they all have pro's and con's. All are good though.

Depends on what you need.

Thanks, Larry

Subject: Batch Monitoring Software

Hi All,

We had an issue yesterday where one of the batch jobs did not restart after we did an IPL. It was not actually diagnosed until a few of the users called and complained that some of their processes were not running.

Can anyone recommend any software that will monitor for specific batch jobs and if it is not online after a set period, will notify specific people (either via email, text message, etc.).

Thanks.

/b;
