Got the blank screen.
Rather than a JetDirect box, this one has a StarTech.com Wired Print Server
(PM115P) which, I think, is similar in function to a JD box - but don't
quote me.
I'm checking out the PM115P manual now.
We only have three [3] PC printers here and only one is connected to the
System i and that is through 5250 emulation (it's direct attached to a PC).
What's weird (to me, anyway) is that anyone can print a System i
report/document to this printer, including me. But no one but the PC to
which it is attached can print a PC document to it even though it is shared.
But that's another issue.

Jerry,
Have you tried a telnet to the printer port 9100 from your PC? From a
command prompt (DOS prompt) type:
telnet 10.1.10.199 9100
What happens? If the printer is accepting connections, it'll connect,
but you'll get a blank screen. If not, you should get an error message
telling you it can't connect. That would give you a clue that port 9100
(the JetDirect/PJL/Raw printer port) is not available. If that's the
case, you'll want to turn on jetDirect port 9100 in the printer config
(if possible) or use a different printing protocol.
If it does connect, then something is wrong in your IBM i devd. Or
perhaps in the network itself.
Bit by bit, try testing each portion until you determine where the
problem is.

Sorry. Forgot to mention in my previous reply that the protocol that the
Windows definition is using is "Raw". Not sure what that means, but there
it is.
