Subject: Re: Netserver shares after V7R1 Upgrade

For the archives:

As per this document
http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.NSF/DocNumber/409158144

lack of threading capability when access the QDLS file system was the
issue.

It appears clients were accessing shares in multiple file systems
including QDLS. Once an initial client request was assigned to job
QZLFILEST subsequent share requests were services by this job resulting
in a failure when the client requested access to a share based on the
QDLS files systems as QDLS does not support multi-threading.

The threaded support was removed by disabling the QZLFILEST job as per
this document:
http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.NSF/DocNumber/424182307

As it turns out this change had been made at V5R4 but had not been
documented. Upgrading to V7R1 or V6R1 removed the customization to the
QSERVER subsystem causing the original V5R4 issue to re-appear.
