  What I saw was the conceptual [range] value '2011-00-00' defined as 
the CHAR(10) data type being used to represent a "period" of time, as 
both the column name "report_period_name" and variable name 
"@in_report_period_name", where that string data was neither referenced 
as nor any attempt made to cast that string data as a DATE data type.?
