Actually, I think it was me that proposed using a calendar table, as a
general solution for using SQL against dissimilar representations of a
date. I also mentioned that a UDF or a host variable would work just as
well in the given situation. A UDF was appropriate because the date
transform needed to happen in the WHERE clause of the SELECT, as opposed
to the result set.
