For a single lpar, and only a single machine, that might be what I would
do. It reduces your download time because it only orders stuff you do not
already have. You obviously have more than one machine or lpar (Mimix).
However, if you have to run it twice (once for each machine) you still may
reduce your time. Me, I find it easier just to order all and have it go
to the ftp site or come in on media and then load it from there. But I
have 10 lpars of i stretched across three machines.
