As others have said CHKTAP will do it. I have a job on the scheduler that
runs every Friday at 2:00 PM. If there is no tape loaded in the library,
then it sends an email message with that message to the support people, of
which I am one. In our case, if the library has the first tape loaded, then
the rest of the week is good to go.
