Yes, RETURN will work fine.

However, your WRKACTJOB output shows that the program is active (it hasn't returned) and that it's in RUN state (i.e. it's running.)

Is it normal for your program to take this long to run? If not, you might check if maybe it has gotten stuck in a loop...? Is it possible there's a bug that could do that?

Try walking through it in debug.
