I'm trying to set up some audit reports using QMQRY but I'm having someWay back, I used to use Query400 (the green screen version) to create the
trouble with the output. Using a QMQRY with *SYSDFT as the QMFORM it
chops up the output into several spool files, which I don't want. If I
try to define a QMFORM it tells me the number of columns must match the
number of fields selected, which would mean I would have to create a
form for each query. I'm hoping to be able to just create one form and
use it for a bunch of queries. Is there any way to do this so it accepts
any number of fields/columns but leaves the printed output as one spool
file?
report output I was looking for. Query400 created a query object, then I
used CRTQMQRY and CRTQMFORM to extract the SQL and form information from
the query object. The resulting source could then be modified as needed,
and the RUNQMQRY command (I think that was it) allowed specifying
parameters too, which was what made it really useful for simple reports.
That was 20 years ago or so, but I'd guess it would still work if you had
Query400 installed. Is that still available?
