Thanks for adding to my knowledge.... until now... I just knew what
Client told me. I wrote the interfaces to their apps. and back to handle
what they called..:-)... Tax Product Class, Tax Product Code, etc.. I
have never work with the other side because that was handle by the
Client....it was just called VERTEX to me...now two projects later (a
year).... Now it's the Item Weight Standardization project... Where
Catch Weight and Random Weight are not the same thing in their
apps....but we are taking that functionality out of the code (which
worked very well). And changed it to be just weighted... go figure...
Thanks for informing me and most of all informing Michael.

Bill,
" Note the iSeries version is no longer supported by the VERTEX Group."
Please be careful with this statement...
On the IBM i, Vertex sells TWO possible solutions; Sales and Use Tax
(LEGACY), or Sales Tax Q-Series.
The LEGACY product is not being enhanced anymore, but I believe they
still support it (take your money) and provide data updates. It is
written in RPG (3) and is NOT worth the storage it takes to load...
The Q series product is ILE, written in C and SQL, and is fully
supported. Vertex does not seem to understand that RPG ILE developers
can use the Q series product, as I've never heard of anyone else using
Q-series in RPG ILE. This product is normally what they sell to ERP
customers, where the ERP vendor has written the interface to implement
Vertex for their environment.

-Eric DeLong

Hey Michael,
They just came back and said no...
But I can tell one of our sites uses the iSeries version and the other
VEXTEX O which is the web service version.
Note the iSeries version is no longer supported by the VERTEX Group.
Wish I could share more but the contract did say.......
Bill
