Then does someone need to monitor the monitoring software?

We could add a monitor for _that_. But then who monitors the monitor
monitoring software?

And to think it's only Wednesday . . .

:)

No I don't, but that's a good idea. I have disparate documents here and
there but nothing that ties it into a daily (or other periodic) task list.
For example I have my Mimix run book. But I probably should copy any
suggested daily activities into a daily run list. I have my "Preparations
for downtime" quite documented, (like ordering ptf's etc) but I do not
have that in a monthly task list. A little of that is in my calendar.

Some routine report checking may be better served by the appropriate
monitoring software. For example, instead of an hourly check list to
DSPMSG QSYSOPR perhaps a better solution would be to install monitoring
software that does that and alerts you to the important stuff.

Hi everybody

Do you have a strong list of activities which admin should do every
day/week/months on server i? Those which is not connected with any ERP
system ...
i.e. - backup data - but depend of type of data ...
review logs - but which? logs are so huge portion of data so admin
should review only "important" - but which is important?
what else? which command? which jobs?
(RGZPFM, DLTEXPSPLF ... )

Thanks for any ideas ...

Regards

Tomasz
