Could be upgrade - could be a bad case of coincidence.

Since the biggest killer is usually I/O I'd start there.
WRKDSKSTS, use F11 and make sure none are Degraded.

Also do a WRKPTFGRP. What 'Level's do you show "Installed" for SF99610,
SF99609, SF99601?

Another thing to consider is that the sooner you call IBM on this the
better. You may still have *MGTCOL's so they can do before/after
comparisons to see what has changed. They get purged.
