Back many releases ago you could configure lpars from a "controlling"
partition. And there used to be an option in STRSST to do that. We used
to work this way. Now that we are using an HMC if I try to take "5. Work
with system partitions" I get:
Logical Partitioning Environment Not Supported
Virtual Partition Manager is not supported and this service
function cannot be started. The system is in a state that
does not allow this operating system to partition the
server. Refer to the Virtual Partition Manager documentation
for more information.
I thought that was now limited to Linux lpars only, however, this is
showing me otherwise
