We had the opposite problem-- CE had just installed some additional memory, but the system would-not-power-up! He re-seated all sorts of cables (though they hadn't been touched), until, finally, he remembered or looked up the symptoms, and there was the interlock button! We wrote a BIG note on the cover panel for the next time.
