You may be confusing RBD and RDi.
RDi (which no longer exists, and is now RDP with the IBM i tools, or RDPi as we like to call it <smile>) is not and likely never will be free. RDPi is the replacement for ADTS (PDM, SEU, SDA) and will probably always be a chargeable product, currently around $700 a seat.
RBD is the enterprise-level Rational tooling. It's a bit higher in price, and it provides all the tools I mentioned in a previous post, and is primarily targeted at folks moving from other VAGen products. It has all the bells and whistles.
EDT is the free, open source version of EGL. It's at release 0.7.0, with 0.8.0 on the way hopefully early next year.
Does that clear things up a little?
