From a simple ftp session on my pc to my i I can use this command:

quote rcmd rmvlnk '/rob/deleteme*.*'

or I can do

quote site namefmt 1
prompt
mdelete /rob/deleteme*.*

Try one of those. If one doesn't work, try the other. FTP exit points
may secure one or both.
