But since the DEVTYPE() is an open [run-time] attribute versus restricted to only a file [definition-time] attribute, the device type that will be utilized during open, could have been overridden to that value using a prior request to OVRPRTF DEVTYPE(different). Thus the only truly valid way to know how the file is being utilized, is at run-time, via the open feedback, or I suppose to retrieve the overrides too\first.?
