I'd go with looking at the joblog for when the DLYJOB was issued.

As far as Gary's suggestions go, I've heard of sleep() and I seem to
remember using it. But an alternative technique might be to try receiving
from a data queue with a time limit. When you're ready, an alternative
process can send an entry to the data queue.
