Yes, I have installed and used ArdGate or AppServer4RPG which is an open source project
available from
http://sourceforge.net/
ArdGate is built on Java and JDBC, but not Java is required to access
the remote database; just SQL
Once installed, you can query a remote MS Sequel Server (or others) from STRSQL,
embedded SQL, QmQry
Also, Scott Klement has a JDBC service program that is easy to use
and suitable for many "smaller" projects.

Subject: Access file on Sequel Server from RPG
All,
I have searched the archived on this and found that someone had already asked this question, but did not see any responses other than use JAVA and JDBC or use a comercial solution.
I have no JAVA experience, and a comercial solution is not desired.
PHP is not an option as this will be a batch program.
Has anyone done this using RPG & SQL?
Thanks,
