Also, if there's a directory "tree" within which you need to find such text:
/dira/january
/dira/february
/dira/march

Then cd to the top directory and use the -r switch:

QSH

cd /dira
grep -r 'find this' *

Do this from Qshell (STRQSH or QSH).

Then, change the current directory to the directory that contains the
files you want to search, e.g.:

cd /QIBM/UserData

Then issue the grep command, e.g.:

grep 'test' *

The output will show each file name that contains a match, and the data

found.
